The Heavy Weapons Qualification equips soldiers with the knowledge to operate high-impact weapons systems found in the Weapons Squad (1-4) including the FGM-148 Javelin, FIM-92F Stinger, M3 MAAWS, and the M240B. This course will cover the basics on how to use the weapons, what ammunition should be used, and how to operate them safely and effectively.

Soldiers not currently assigned to or planning on being assigned to a Weapons Squad are still encouraged to take the qualification. Qualification is required for an extended amount of time within a Weapons Squad. There are no previously required qualifications.

If you do not already have CLS (Combat Lifesaver Qualification) you will be turned away and instructed to attend CLS instead as these qualifications run at the same time. CLS is more important for average usage.
