  • Unit Performance Evaluation Policy Overview

In order to properly screen and evaluate new and current soldiers, an evaluation on an individual soldiers in-game performance will be conducted. The intent is to assure the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment retains only the top performing soldiers assigned to selective MOSs, billets and remain in Active Duty. The policy gives soldiers feedback based on a system with five performance ratings and an administrative rating for those evaluated.

    Evaluation Procedure

The evaluation procedure is the same for Entry Level Training (ELT) and Pre-Deployment. A set number of soldiers will be given a mock objective in a Field Training Exercise setting while being observed by two or more cadre and the Zeus Gamemaster. Cadre will be observing for negatives such as but not limited to; breaches of unit doctrine, poor behavior, tact. bearing or lack of basic warfighting skills and fundamentals. While positives would include but are not limited to; proper use of unit doctrine, communications, movement, situational awareness, enthusiasm and knowledge. Cadre will then consult with the Zeus Gamemaster and agree upon a rating based off of shared observations. If a soldier receives a 'B', 'C' or 'D' rating during an evaluation they may request another evaluation at the next available evaluation opportunity. However, that rating will be final regardless if it is lower than their previous rating.

    Ratings

    s.png

‘S’ rating will be assigned to soldiers who perform to the highest degree of professionalism, proficiency and ability while demonstrating above average competence, decision making and skill while not filling a rifle squad billet. These soldiers are the top performing in all categories and are eligible for selective MOSs, billets and further promotion. An 'S' rating is equivalent to an 'A' rating with the only difference being the soldier's assigned billet.

‘B’ rating will be assigned to soldiers who perform to an excellent degree of professionalism, proficiency and ability while demonstrating a high degree competence, decision making and skill that does not meet the standards of an ‘A’ rating. These soldiers perform excellent in all categories and are allowed to be slotted as ‘Active Duty’.

‘C’ rating will be assigned to soldiers who perform to a basic degree of professionalism, proficiency and ability. Demonstrating a basic level of competence, decision making and skill. While these soldiers are able to attend Campaign Deployments, they are unable to receive promotions while in Reserve. Soldiers who receive the 'C' rating and slot as Active Duty can removed from their billet and swapped with a soldier who has a 'B' or 'A' rating if no Active Duty billet is available.

These soldiers are not able to attend Campaign Deployments unless their previous rating was an ‘A’.
